Why Support Local Agriculture?

• Build relationships with community members • Improve local economy • Reduce environmental impact, requiring less transportation • Create more job opportunities and local ownership • Enhance local prosperity • Consume fresher food

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between farms and customers. Instead of simply purchasing produce, customers can become “members” of the farm’s available CSA, and receive a portion of the farm’s harvest every week equivalent to the value of their investment! Members purchase shares in advance of the growing season, to help farmers pay for needed supplies, such as seeds and equipment. Every farm approaches their CSA a little differently but customers are also assuming some of the risk.
